There's No Place Like Home
You have thoughts, you have questions, and you have concerns - share them with others who are just like yourself.
Home Friendship Groups are small groups of people who are at various stages in their Christian development. These groups meet in homes in the greater Lansing area. A Home Friendship Group is a place where the real life issues that we are facing daily are discussed from a Biblical perspective. The Home Friendship Group is a secure place where we can discuss our feelings and thoughts, regardless of our background or circumstances.
People discover that God is real and active in their lives as they find people who genuinely care about one another. The model for Home Friendship Groups is found in the Bible:
"Every day they continued to meet together ... they broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people? Acts 2:46-47
In A Home Friendship Group We:
- Discuss the scriptures as they relate to life, yet they are not Bible Studies.
- Pray for special needs, yet they are not prayer meetings.
- Give encouragement whenever needed, yet they are not support groups.
- Have a great time, yet they are not merely social events.
- Develop true friendships, yet they are not friendship clubs.
- Experience the presence of God, yet they are not church services.
Current Friendship Groups
Youth Friendship Groups:
The 14-18 aged group currently meets at the church on Thursday evenings at 7 pm. The Friendship group leaders are Matt and Kelly Dunham, and David Ewing. This is a large group of youth who enjoy being together.
The 11-13 aged group likewise currently meets at the Church on Thursday evenings at 7 pm. Julia Vela and Jason Walker are the leaders.
Young Men's HFG: This group meets on Saturdays at various locations. It is held in the afternoon at varying times. David Ewing is the leader. You may contact him at

Young Adult
There is a young adult friendship group which is held on Saturday evenings at 7 pm. James and Heather Scaggs are the leaders. You may contact them at 648-6530.
There is a womens's friendship group which meets at the church at 7 pm on Tuesday evenings. For more information contact the leader, Tanaya Donley at 896-8072.
Substance Abuse:
We have an ACTS group: "Alcohol Chemical Treatment Series" is a group for those trying to overcome addictions in their lives. Family and friends are also welcome. This group is held at the church and begins at 7 pm. The group is led by Lonnie Cox who may be contacted at 896-9363.
Men's Group
We have a Men's group led by Lonnie Cox at the Church fellowship hall at ll am on Tuesday. Lonnie may be contacted at 896-9363. Lonnie also leads a men's breakfast at 6:30 am the same day.
Women's Groups
We have a women's group held on Fridays at 12 noon at the church. Helen Darnell is the leader. You may contact her at 886-5404.
W.O.W. (Women of Worth) group for women 40 and older. Held at the church on the 2nd Saturday of each month. This group is led by Jean Mooney. You may contact Jean at 517-663-4134.
Singles Group
The Singles meet together each Sunday after Church service. Ken Spencer is the leader. You may contact him at 402-6794.
Pastor's Home Group
John Gillengerten leads a Friendship group on Saturday mornings at 9 am at the Pastor's home.. To get more information on this group you may e mail Pastor Stephens at

Young Married Friendship Group:
The Young married couples have two Friendship groups. One is on Sundays at 9:45 am at the church. This allows the child care to be provided by the church. It is also convenient because the church service starts at 11 am.
The second is on Saturday afternoons at the home of Anthony and Meghann Spagnuolo. You may contact them at 507-6195.
Senior's Group
